Joining the club in 2006, Paul Ratcliffe made the one of the most significant contributions to the club in it's most recent history. After 26 years of waiting, as Chairman Paul oversaw the promotion from the North West Counties into the Northern Premier League alongside a project of major regeneration and development of the club off the field. 

On 28th February 2022, Town were dealt the devastating news that Paul had passed away after a short illness. The club duly announced that his Wife was to become Life President of the Club in honour of Paul's memory and on Saturday 26th March 2022, we held a Memorial Day on the national Non-League Day.

Furthermore the club subsequently opened the Paul Ratcliffe Lounge and named the Paul Ratcliffe Supporters Player of the Year trophy in his memory.
