Newcastle pressure produces a great result

Newcastle pressure produces a great result
Well what a strange old game talk about taking it easy and then cranking up the pressure, so that the third quarter became a pressure cooker of extreme heat for Hilton and the goals flowed.
Period one was definitely a period to forget i think we committed more mistakes in 20 mins than we had all preseason. Early poor goal kick allowed Hilton to gain possession on the edge of our box and score 0-1
Against a top 10 midlands team mistakes get punished and sure another mistake and a lack of desire to get back lead to number 2. Poor link up play near the Hilton box allowed Hilton to gain possession break and while 4 Newcastle lads dawdled back into shape Hilton got into the box slipped past Ben and score 0-2
Second period was vital for Newcastle to find a foothold and create some pressure. Low and behold that is exactly what happened we started to win tackles in the midfield driving forward and playing with intensity.
This intensity lead the 1st Will Stanyer winning the ball deep in the Hilton half moved the ball forward to Harvey Kirkham who shot across the Hilton keeper and scored 1-2 game on
The pressure was building and Hilton were making mistakes enforced by a strong willed Newcastle team
HT 1-2
Period 3 and wow what a great 20 mins that was again the midfield were on the front foot snapping at the Hilton players getting the ball back and driving forwards. The pressure cooker mentioned earlier started to build and when the ball was driven into Leo Emery’s feet who spun his defender layed the ball onto Theo Smith who first time drilled the ball into the bottom corner 2-2
Now Newcastle was buzzing winning the ball high up and causing issues for Hilton in a lot of dangerous areas. This pressure caused the third Max Barlow disposed the midfielder moved thrall to his right and fired the ball into the top right corner of the net 3-2
Three became four and now the hard work that Leo Emery had done for the last 40 minutes paid off Theo Smith this time became supplier with a through ball where Leo slipped the defence, and finished for the fourth 4-2
Period Four was always going to be a test as Hilton had to come out aggressively to get back in and in fairness they did in style the midfielder picked the ball up drove forwards we didn’t close down quick enough allowing him to shoot and score 4-3
However Newcastle wasn’t finished and we were determined to win again another goal and again another goal scorer Carlo De Stefano collecting the ball in midfield moved forwards a struck a sweet shoot into the goal and complete the win 5-3
A lot of character was shown on a pitch that is definitely not suited to our game but these guys keep on finding ways to win...... what a great attitude
Thank you for your support and I thought you helped to crank up the pressure so please do keep up the noise it’s appreciated
