Castle 1-2 Warrington Rylands

Newcastle Town FC 1-2 Warrington Rylands

With the opening game out the way, Castle was soon back in action when we welcomed Warrington to the Red Industries on a damp Tuesday evening under the lights.

Castle made just the one change with Zak Noble getting his debut as Dom was unavailable and one change on the bench with Jack Grimshaw getting included after his recent signing from Macclesfield.

Castle started brightly in the game but it was Warrington that took the lead when a freekick played into the box, has headed onto the bar and Ste Milne was the quickest to react and put it into the back of the net and put Rylands one to the good. Warrington's second goal started from yet another set-piece a corner and was played low into the box and not dealt with and played back into Luke Walls who slotted home with his left peg across the keeper to put them 2 to the good.

Castle did pull a goal back on halftime with some good play from Nathan Morley into Jack van der Laan who calmly put the ball under the keeper from the edge of the box to get a goal back on the stroke.

Half Time 1-2

In the second half, both sides had chances, Warrington to extend their lead and castle to pull level with Nathan Morley, Tommy van der Laan, and Ryan Baxter going close but they could not get the ball over the line and get the much-needed equalizing goal.
