Newcastle Town has appointed its first operations manager as the club continues to grow its community offering.
Tom Sherratt, who joins the club from Port Vale where he held the position of head of the Port Vale Foundation, will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of many of the club’s key functions.
The new role ties in with the soon to be unveiled 3G pitch, which will be available for community use at the club’s Roe Lane facility in June.
Tom said: “This is a great opportunity for me and I’m really looking forward to joining the club at a time of significant positive change.
Newcastle Town already has a great reputation locally as a club that is growing very quickly. My role will be to ensure that this growth happens smoothly and that we continue to inspire and provide outstanding service to our local communities.
Gavin Appleby, chairman of Newcastle Town Football Club, said: “Tom was a very impressive candidate at interview and left us in no doubt that he is more than capable of helping us to keep growing the club’s profile with our work in the community and overseeing our day-to-day footballing activities.
“It is a very exciting time for the club, and I’m delighted that Tom, with his strong background in community and with Staffordshire Football Association, is joining us on our journey. There is plenty for him to do!”
