Newcastle Town crashed out of this year's FA Cup with a one-nil defeat to a very well worked and organised Leicester Road side.
Castle give debuts to new goalkeeper Owen Mooney on loan from Wigan and Academy graduate Matt Harrison, we also handed starts to Declan Arber and Will Gibbons in a host of changes to the team that had lost their opening 2 games of the season
Road started the brighter of the two sides with the best chance of the game after 10 minutes with a ball into the box which Castle didn't deal with and the player at the back stick could not capitalise and put the ball away and castle regrouped and got rid of the ball. Newcastle was then awarded a penalty after Arber was brought down in the box and skipper James Askey stepped up but put his penalty to the same side as the keeper had picked and it was a powerful save from the Leicester Road goalkeeper. Both sides created few chances during the first half and possession was largely shared by them both.

The second half had Castle dominate play for large portions but could not find any killer passes into the box and create any chances on goal, plenty of chances away from the posts but were unable to find the right shot onto the keeper.
However, as we were all looking to travel to Hinkley on a Tuesday night the ball was played wide to the Castle right-hand side and Leicester Roads Callum Earls moved into the edge of the area after some neat play by Leicester and hit a shot across the keeper and into the bottom corner of the net to give Leicester the lead with a minute to play and ultimately the winning goal and them into the next round of this year's FA Cup.
