Castle Pre-Season

The big three come to Castle for pre-season fixtures

It might only be May, but we’ve acted quickly to get our pre-season fixtures lined up as Neil Baker prepares for his first full season in charge.

And the big news is that for the first time in more than a decade, all three of our local league clubs will be coming to Buckmaster Avenue to take on our boys. All of these fixtures are sure to bring in a lot of interest, so we wanted to keep you posted on when these matches will take place, so fans can mark-up their diaries and get their tickets now.

First up we welcome Port Vale for some Friday night football on 5 July. The Valiants will be keen to make a good impression at the start of this season after their relegation to league two last month under their new manager Darren Moore.

On Saturday 13 July we welcome Crewe Alexandra. The Alex suffered play off heartache at Wembley only last week as Crawley Town earned their place in the Championship with a comfortable 2-0 win at the national stadium. This match will kick off at 3pm.

Following a run of three away friendlies at Uttoxeter Town, Glossop North End and Foley Meir, we then host Stoke City U-21s on Sunday 28 July with a 2pm kick-off.

Our season then starts in earnest the following Saturday (3rd August) with an FA Cup extra preliminary round game – we’ll obviously keep you posted on that one when we know more.

The prices for the three friendlies are as follows:

Port Vale: Friday 5 July 7.30pm:

Adult seated £12 - Adult standing £10 – Concession seated £8 – Concession standing £6

Under 16s £3

Crewe Alexandra: Saturday 13 July 3pm:

Stoke City U21s: Sunday 28 July 2pm:

Tickets for all of these fixtures are available now from both Roe Lane and from the stadium. Get yours now!
