Newcastle Town FC U13s Girls with the Lionessess U23s squad.

On Sunday our Newcastle Town U13s were invited along to St George's Park, the FA Headquarters, to watch an England U23 Lionesses training session and meet the players.

Over the past couple of seasons the girls have been on a fantastic journey, from experiencing the ups and downs of learning the game to SGLFL League Cup Shield success last season.  But, grassroots football isn't just about success on the pitch, it's about creating memorable moments and experiences off the pitch too.

Thanks to the the Staffs FA and the Lionesses, our girls got to experience what a professional training session looks like and the hard work and dedication of needed to be a professional footballer.

A really inspiring day and a fabulous reward for the players, coaches and parents of the team who have all put so much energy and time into making the team such a success.

Maybe, just maybe, there'll be a few Castle alumni wearing those 3 lions.
