Under 16s debut in exciting 1-1 draw for the Under 18s
With several injuries and absences affecting the squad, our Under-18s looked to the younger ranks for support in their Midland Floodlit Premier League fixture away at Boldmere St Michaels FC on Monday, 6th October 2025.
Stepping up to the challenge were four of our Under-16s players — all just 15 years old — who were called into action by Manager Gavin Appleby following an impressive start to their Midland Junior Premier League campaign.
Making their Under-18s debuts were Finlay Wilkes (15), Kieran Heaton (15), Gus Metcalfe (15), and Ellis Morley (15) — a fantastic reflection of the clear development pathway within the club.

A special mention goes to Gus Metcalfe, who has been part of Newcastle Town FC since the age of seven. Seeing him, along with his teammates, progress through the age groups is a proud moment for everyone at the club. With a talented Under-16s squad this season, we’re confident more players will follow in their footsteps as the year continues.
The match itself ended in a hard-fought 1–1 draw, with Isaac Willis finding the net for Castle. You can watch the game on our You Tube channel - NewcastleTownFC1
