Men’s reserves back in action

Reserves to kick off new season at Buckmaster Avenue this Saturday

We’ll have a full preview of the first team’s FA Cup away trip to the team named after the first king of Rome – Romulus –tomorrow, but for now we’d like to focus on the action we’ll have at our home ground on Saturday.

If you can’t make it to Sutton Coldfield, why not shoot over to Buckmaster Avenue for the reserves’ campaign opener against Wolverhampton based Warstone Wanderers in their first Staffordshire Senior County League Division One game of the season.

The new management team of Dave Dale, Dave Turner and Martin Ridley have the target of gunning for promotion to the Premier Division this season and new reserve team manager Dave Dale – aka Boomerang Boy – knows this is a great chance for our youngsters to shine.

Dave said: “It’s going to be an exciting season with the reserves and I’m really looking forward to getting stuck in. Promotion is very much the target, as it is important for us to try to narrow the gap between 1st team and reserve team football.

“Working with Martin and Dave is going to be a great experience, as their skills complement each other so well and having that mixed footballing background on the management side can only benefit our young lads. It’s a great opportunity for them.”

The bar and café will be open on Saturday, so if you’re not travelling down south to see the firsts in the cup, then you can still get your fix at our place. Kick off is at 2pm.
