The MATCH Preview

Well we have done our best over the last few months, we have done the shopping, we have done some DIY and I dare say some have spent time with friends and family but its time, it's back, YES the football season is here and this year we are going to have a regular Match Preview post here at Newcastle Town with our media man Shaun Rogers supported by WayupnaMedia and Hogarths of Newcastle.

WALKING

Well we would question why you would but we will offer you this option each week, it can be done in 33 miles but will take you around 10 hours to walk to the ground from Castle.

You can get the train to Wolverhampton and then it's just 3 miles from the Train Station you can grab the no 3 or 10 bus to the ground if you wish to go this way.

PRE MATCH PINT

Now we are talking this is my area of expertise, so if you are going in on the train the closest Wetherspoons is by the station and is the Moon Under Water, and is a very good spoon's I rated it 7/10 on our last visit to the spoons. But if you are not looking to go that far out from the ground we are told that The Firs Inn which you will pass on your way to the ground looks like a good stop-off for a pre-match pint before you get to the ground. They are open from midday on Saturday and they are a foodie pub as well. I can also confirm they have a dartboard so the chances of finding Shaun at the bar or the board are very high.

The FA Cup

So its safe to say we have not had the best of runs recently in the FA Cup and we will look to get into the First Round Qualifying for the first time since 2017/18 season when we lost to Stratford Town 4-0

Last season we went out in the Preliminary Round to Hinckley Leicester Road 1-0 when we looked all certain to take the game to a reply but they got a late winner, we will be sure looking to progress via today's game.

Whats been our best performance in the cup well that was back in 1996/97 season when we got to the First Round Proper and played Notts County and lost 2-0 and the game was played at Stoke City, we will take the First Round Qualifying first and go from there this year.

So who are we up against!

What do we know about our opponents today, well we don't want to give too much away but they have kept their cards very close to their chest this pre season with not much info posted about themselves so as it stands the info we have we are going to keep close to our chest.

We did play Wulfrunians once in the Staffs Senior Cup around 3 years back and we won on that occasion 3-0

How are the team looking

We have a good fully fit squad for this weekend as its the opening weekend of the season, and no injuries to speak of so we go there with a strong 21-man squad and don't forget we can name 7 subs in the comp so the managers choices are going to be vast this weekend.

Media Teams Prediction

Can you ask us again on Saturday at 4:45?

No this is our year I'm sure of it but not knowing much about the opponents does have us wondering but we are going for a 2-1 Castle Win with Goals from Lloyd and Dennis
